Frankincense also known as olibanum is made from the resin of the Boswellia tree. This tree typically grows in the dry, mountainous regions of India, Africa, and the Middle East.

There are 5 types of frankincense.

Bosellia papyrifera is the frankincense that grows in Ethiopia and Sudan which produces a transparent oily resin.

Frankincense has a warm, earthy, clean, spicy and slightly sweet scent to it which can be inhaled, absorbed through the skin, or taken as a supplement.

Frankincense has been and is still very much so held in high regard.
